TAI CHI & MEDITATION

Come and experience the calming stillness of Tai Chi. Combined with meditation, these two disciplines have a great deal in common. We will study the basic movement principles of Tai Chi, learn to utilize Qi Gong to engage with energy in the body, study some of the Tai Chi form and the deep connection we get with Tai Chi two person work – San Shou.

Tai chi is often described as action in stillness, stillness in action. The movements have a language of their own which allow us to connect the mind with the body and discover true somatic movement.

Together we will study this in the wonderful surroundings of Alfoxton Park!

FACILITATION TEAM

Andy spragg

Andy has been practising Tai Chi for 30 years, focusing on the Yang style. He's a practising Buddhist and aims to synergise Tai Chi and Buddhism, particularly Buddhist meditation. Andy's style is relaxed, light and informal. He teaches the principles and feeling of Tai Chi rather than exact positioning. His gentle approach is great for beginners experiencing the art for the first time as well those looking to delve a little deeper.

The nearest railway stations are Bridgewater and Taunton, around 1h45 mins from London. We can provide transport from these stations to the site.

ACCOMMODATION

This is a camping retreat. Bring a tent or live-in vehicle. Toilets, showers and a sauna are available.

FOOD

Delicious vegan meals will be provided throughout the retreat.

Costs

Alfoxton House is a charity and works on the principle of 'dana' or 'gift' economy. Read more about Dana here. A £75 deposit will secure your place.
